Zola

Zola came into the DSPCA from another rescue in search of her forever home. She has settled into shelter life and has the most amazing Staffie personality. She is very intelligent which shows in her quick learning and her ability to understand commands, making her a delightful companion to train and have fun. She is very food motivated which will also help with training. Poor Zola has been overlooked for a long time and we just cannot understand why.

Zola has spent time in a brilliant foster home, and they have had nothing but great things to say about her, here is a little bit of what they have said. “Zola is a quiet, gentle girl. She settled in with us quickly and just got on with it no problem at all. She is genuinely one of the most intelligent dogs we have come across. She picks up commands very quickly, reads the room, watches everything going on around her, and figures things out. You can really see her thinking. Because she is food motivated, training her has been a real pleasure and she responds very well to positive reinforcement. She also has an incredibly soft nature. She is not a dog that demands constant attention, she simply gravitates toward you. She will follow you from room to room, settle beside you on the sofa, and rest near you like she has always been part of the home. She is the perfect sofa companion – calm, warm, and just happy to be close to her people. When she does want to play, she is great fun. She loves running in the garden, playing tug with a rope toy, and working on her Kong. Belly rubs and butt scratches are also very high on her list of favourite things. What has really stood out to us over the past few months is how well she gets on with people. We have brought her to coffee shops, parks, and visits with many friends and family, and without fail people stop to pet her. She is calm, approachable, and just lovely to have around in different environments.”

She could possibly live with another dog pending a dog meet. She is best suited to a home with teenagers or adults who are experienced and familiar with her breed. Her playful energy is sure to bring joy and laughter into any home. Zola is more than a shelter pet, she’s a loving soul waiting to share her life with you, she is sure to bring happiness and companionship to her forever home.
