Sandy

Kaida originally came into the DSPCA from another rescue many months ago. Unfortunately she has found herself back in the shelter in search of her forever home. Understandably Kaida was stressed and confused when arriving into the DSPCA but she has quickly settled into shelter life. She absolutely loves people and is incredibly affectionate. She loves to spend time cuddling with staff and volunteers. She is enjoying making friends in our shelter play groups and could potentially live with another dog pending a dog meet. She is even helping one of our other shelter dogs learn some social skills and how to make friends. She loves her walks and getting time to explore her environment. She has enjoyed some offsite walks with staff and loved getting to roll in the grass. She is on a weight loss plan and needs to loose around 10kg. This is something her new owners will need to continue on by monitoring her food intake and keeping her active. She is best suited to a quiet home and environment and will need an experienced home with teenagers or adults who will be happy to do training following force free training methods to help her settle into a new environment. She loves her food which will make her a dream to train. Could Kaida be the one for you?

Kaida described by her fosters:
“She’s been an absolute sweetheart from start to finish. EXTREMELY affectionate and very smart. Walks great on the lead but does have a good bit of anxiety around loud or yappy dogs. She’s more likely to run a mile in the opposite direction than be aggressive with them. Loves people and is very friendly. Very food motivated. Very demanding of attention, and definitely needs two long walks a day. Would probably need a household with people home most of the day who would be quite active.”
