Lexi is a lovely 5 year old, female, border collie cross looking for a new forever home! Lexi was originally adopted from the DSPCA, but the current owner can no longer care for her due to change in circumstances. She is a sweet and playful companion who loves walks, running, hikes and chasing a ball – ball is king!
Lexi is intelligent and loves to learn new tricks, she loves food and will do anything for some cheese! She is toilet trained, sleeps inside the house, is good on walks and has good recall (especially when you have a ball). She displays very typical border collie traits and can be very sensitive and nervous in busy environments. Lexi is easily overstimulated so would benefit from a quieter household with teenagers or adults only. She would be better suited to living in a quieter area, where busy traffic or lots of other dogs won’t stress her further – and bigger garden space to play in!
While she is a very active dog, she does enjoy quiet time and napping by your feet or finding a comfy spot in the house. Lexi needs someone who can give her the time to help build her confidence – she will be a loyal friend forever. Can you offer this sweet girl the second chance she deserves?
Please note, Lexi is not currently in the shelter, but if you are interested in adopting, the first step will be to visit the shelter to chat with the team, and fill in an application form. We are open 12-4pm Tuesday to Sunday, and no appointment is required.
