Hemsworth & Florentine
Hemsworth & Florentine are an unlikely pair after coming in to us separately, but since hearing each other they have been singing constantly to each other so we decided to see how they’d get along and so far so good! Hemsworth is a one year old opaline red rumped parrot who came in to us after being found outside an office building being pestered by wild birds and totally exhausted. Thankfully someone took him in and gave him shelter, water and a quiet place to rest. Florentine arrived in to us a few days later after being found in someones garden again very exhausted but otherwise in good health. Both birds are not tame with people and therefore would be best suited together in an aviary or large cage with other birds and plenty of space to fly, explore and forage.
Both these birds are not hand-tame and are fearful of human interaction, so would be best suited in an aviary where they can spend their days with other birds of a similar size such as other budgies, cockatiels, conures or lovebirds. The aviary would ideally be indoors or heated and provide shelter for these birds during harsh weather.
