Job Vacancy: Full Time Cat Carer

Role Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the care, well-being and health of cats at the National SPCA Rathfarnham, Dublin.

At the NSPCA, we pride ourselves in providing the highest level of care for all animals, ensuring that all nutritional, sanitation, veterinary, exercise, enrichment and well-being needs are met. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient activities of a busy facility, working with our internal teams, caring for animals and liaising with the public.

Responsibilities & Duties

Feed and water cat’s according to their specific dietary needs.
Clean and sanitize cat enclosures, including enclosures, kennels, and litter boxes.
Interact with cat’s regularly to ensure they are physically healthy and mentally stimulated.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the vet team.
Monitor cat’s for any signs of illness or injury and report any concerns.
Assist with the intake and adoption process when required, including conducting meet and greets with potential adopters.
Maintain accurate records of each cat’s care and behaviour and communicate effectively to Rehabilitation and Rehoming Manager.
Follow all policy and procedure with regards to sanitation and disease control (training will be provided)

Qualifications & Personal Qualities

A qualification or training in animal care is desirable.
Experience working with animals in a kennel, shelter, daycare, or veterinary environment is necessary.
Comfortable working with dogs and cats of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Ability to follow procedures, work efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare and client service.
Willingness to learn and follow guidance from supervisors and senior staff.
