Thank you for choosing to adopt a cat from the DSPCA. Please see below the cats available for adoption. The Shelter is open to visitors Tuesday to Sunday from 12-4pm and you do not need an appointment to visit.

  • Visit the shelter

    Visit the shelter and talk to the cat rehoming team about the cat you are interested adopting. If the cat you are interested in has already been booked when you visit, the team can talk to you about another suitable cat.

    The shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday 12-4pm. You do not need an appointment to visit.

  • Booking the adoption

    Once you have booked your cat with the cattery team you will be asked to confirm by email 24hrs later that you intend to process with the adoption. At this point a date and time of the adoption will be agreed.

  • To adopt a cat/kitten

    You must;

    Be 18+ years old

    Provide photo ID & proof of address

    Provide verified landlord permission where renting or house sharing (where applicable)

    Agree to all terms & conditions of adoption

    Provide photos of the indoor set up for the cat.

    Pay the full adoption fee on the adoption day.

  • Complete the Adoption

    Adoptions are carried on out at the shelter on specific days. One of the cattery team will arrange a suitable day with you.

    The adoption fee for a Kitten/Juvenile is €150 and €135 for an adult cat and is paid in full at your adoption. You will be required to bring Photo ID and proof of address with you.

  • Going home

    You must have a safe and secure cat carrier to bring your cat/kitten home on your adoption day. A plastic or cardboard container/bag or a blanket is NOT suitable to transport you new pet home in. If you are attending any future vet visits to the shelter they MUST be in their cat carrier.

  • The adoption of €150 for a Kitten/Juvenile and €135 for an adult cat contributes towards the cost of neutering, microchipping, registering the microchip, the cat’s first 2 vaccinations and up to date flea and worming treatments.

The cat adoption fee is €135. This covers the cost for neutering, microchipping, registering the microchip, the cat’s first of 2 vaccinations.
