Spike

Spike is a very handsome tiger morph bearded dragon, who came into the shelter as sadly his family could no longer keep him. Spike is only 16 months old and very energetic and curious about everything, which is a great sign in a bearded dragon. His favourite things are pak choi and locusts and he also has a passion for climbing! He is very energetic and loves to run around and sit on your shoulder to observe his surroundings. Spike would suit a family who can give him a spacious enclosure with lots of branches to climb and plenty of time outside his enclosure to exercise and socialize.

Bearded dragons are often classed as a ‘beginner’ or ‘starter’ reptile but this couldn’t be further from the truth. They need very specific living conditions and enrichment and lack of these can lead to severe health issues and suffering.
There is no such thing as a ‘starter setup’ for a bearded dragon. The cost of getting their enclosure and all the lighting, heating and other accessories they will need throughout their life is approximately €800-€1000.
