How you can help

As part of the process of drafting new legislation or policies, the European Commission often publishes a “public consultation”: a questionnaire aimed at citizens of the European Union, business associations, non-EU citizens and more, inviting them to share their views. The Commission then analyses the contributions received, and uses this feedback to inform the shape the new legislation takes. You can have your say.

Here is what we are asking you to do, it should not take more than 30 minutes of your time.  Check out the following links and deadlines for making your thoughts known.

Save a date: Put aside no more than 30 minutes in your diary sometime between now and 12^th December 2025.

Pre-register: Sign up for an account with the EU Commission (keep your password safe) Here

Get ready: Look out for our emails and get ready to take action, you’ll need a space in your diary, preferably a laptop or PC to complete the action and some tasty snacks.  We recommend that you use either a split screen option or 2 separate devices if you can as we have included suggested answers which will best serve the welfare of farm animals.

There are a total of 14 sections in the form, 11 multiple choices, 3 open text boxes and an option for adding an attachment. It is important that you choose the answers to the multichoice options carefully to make the most important points “stand out”.  It is not necessary for you to fill in the open text boxes, but if you have opinions we welcome your submissions.
