Governance Code

The DSPCA is managed and led by the Chief Executive Officer who reports directly to the Board of Trustees. The Board is comprised of voluntary Trustees from various different commercial and professional backgrounds, who generally meet with CEO on a monthly basis to oversee the good governance and management of the Society.

The DSPCA has been a registered member of and compliant with the standards of the Governance Code for voluntary and charitable organisations in Ireland. With the introduction of the Charities Governance Code, by the Charities Regulator, the DSPCA ensures compliance with the good governance standards required by the Code by having systems and processes in place to ensure the charity’s achieves its charitable objectives with integrity and is managed in an effective, efficient, accountable and transparent way.

We commit to reviewing our organisational practice against the recommended actions every 3 years. The DSPCA is fully compliant with the CRA’s Governance Code

Triple Locked Member

Triple Lock status is awarded to charities that uphold best practice in transparent financial reporting, ethical fundraising and strong governance structure. This recognition is the gold standard for Irish charities and offers assurance to donors, supporters and stakeholders. The DSPCA is committed to keeping our compliance with the above standards and will look to continuously review and uphold.
