This is an exciting opportunity with an immediate start for a passionate individual to join the DSPCA team. We value our staff, volunteers and supporters and encourage a collaborative fun working environment. The charity is reliant on the support and generosity of the public to help fund our vital work. The role involves working closely with the wider fundraising team to design and execute a community fundraising and events strategy to bolster the charity’s income. The role is 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 9.00AM to 5.00PM on site at the charities Campus in Rathfarnham. The role will involve some weekend work based on off-site events and commitments in the calendar year.
Responsibilities & Duties
•Identify and prospect for fundraising opportunities to maximize activities and income.
•Seek plan and deliver effective community based fundraising activities in a pro-active way.
•Contribute to the planning and delivery of DSPCA on-site and off-site events in the community.
•Attend spot fundraisers as required, potentially in a wide range of Dublin locations requiring travel. This may involve some weekend commitments and evening work.
•Build relationships with key volunteers to support the role and attend events.
•Develop and nurture relationships with potential business’s individuals and companies to secure income.
•Assist the fundraising team with implementation of core campaigns including donor recruitment, individual giving, email marketing and data collection.
•Act as an ambassador for fundraising in Dublin and build awareness of the benefits of fundraising for the DSPCA.
•Monitor, evaluate and report on learning points from each area of activity and events.
•Ensure the CRM system (Salesforce) is used accurately to record income and all communication between DSPCA and its supporters.
•To provide regular progress reports against targets.
•Act as the ‘go to’ person for volunteers, peers, and wider teams on all aspects of event management and community fundraising activity.
Qualifications and Person Qualities
•A Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fundraising role within the charity sector.
•A passion for all animals.
•Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence, engage, negotiate, and present to diverse audiences.
•A full driving licence.
•Comfortable and articulate in public speaking.
•Target Orientated and able to manage multiple relationships.
•Resourceful and calm in busy or stressful situations.
•Ability to negotiate and influence people.
•Proven track record in income generation, reporting and budgetary management.
•Ability to develop and nurture long term relationships with a range of stakeholders.
•Ability to work across teams and engage staff in fundraising activities.
