We Are Hiring - CEO

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER  DUBLIN SOCIETY FOR  PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS (DSPCA)

The DSPCA was established in 1840. Over the years we have grown to be the leading and largest animal welfare charity in Ireland.  We exist uniquely to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home sick, injured and cruelly treated animals. We are committed to making it socially unacceptable to mistreat any animal. Our team of inspectors works closely with Government Agencies and Authorities to help strengthen the law on animal welfare in Ireland and influence decision making. Through our education services, we impact over 150,000 people each year and focus on promoting kindness and empathy towards animals. We work 365 days a year with a team of dedicated full time staff and volunteers so that we help save lives every day.  We also have a very successful and profitable commercial arm (day care, boarding and retail), which operate to support our welfare work with all of the profits invested in our shelter. Due to planned retirement of our current CEO over the coming months we are now looking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The Position

As CEO, you will lead the Society and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the DSPCA. You will be accountable to the Board, as you drive the Society forward by reviewing the current projects and plans as well as developing a 5 year Strategic Plan in alignment with our strategic purpose.  As CEO, you will be expected to understand and participate in the animal welfare landscape in Ireland and beyond. You will also be required to manage a complex portfolio of organisational responsibilities, including commercial and strategic priorities, operational effectiveness, stakeholder management, communications and financial/governance controls.    To be considered for this role you will need to be a strong leader, and a culture carrier with excellent stakeholder management capabilities.
