We exist uniquely to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome sick, injured and cruelly treated animals. We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Part-Time receptionist to join our team at the DSPCA. As front of house, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, managing enquiries and assisting with administrative tasks to support the operation of the shelter.  This position requires a dedicated individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. A strong commitment to customer service and the ability to multi-task. 

Responsibilities & Duties

- Greet and welcome visitors, clients and potential adopters in a friendly and professional manner.

- Answer phone calls and emails, addressing inquiries about shelter services and general information.

- Schedule appointments for veterinary care using our shelter management software.

- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing animals using our shelter management software.

- Assist with processing of payments for Adoptions and processing of volunteer applications

- Collaborate with shelter staff to ensure smooth communication and coordination of activities.

- Keep the reception area clean, organised and welcoming to visitors.

- Participate in occasional off-site DSPCA events to help promote our mission.  

Qualifications and Person Qualities

- 2/3 years previous customer service experience essential.

- Strong passion for animal welfare and a genuine interest in promoting the well-being of shelter animals.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the public, staff, and volunteers.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage animal records and appointments effectively.

- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in using basic computer software (e.g., email, word processing, databases)

- Weekend availability is required. 

Salary & Benefits

This is a part -time, hourly position with baseline work week of 21 hours per week and  12 days holiday per year. Position is subject to Garda Vetting and reference check.
