Peru arrived to the DSPCA in 2017 as a feral cat with newborn kittens. She reared her kittens here until they were old and strong enough to find homes of their own. When Peru was ready, our vets neutered her and because she was feral, she was released back into the area where she was found, not too far from the DSPCA. One day care staff were going about their work, when suddenly they heard a Meow and guess what it was Peru!
She must have decided she liked it here and somehow had made her way back. Over time she has allowed her favourite staff member Colm get close enough for little head rubs and like clockwork, she appears at breakfast and dinner time for some tasty food. Peru now lives here and from time to time she may be seen patrolling the grounds ensuring things are just the way she likes them!
