Report a Cruelty

The DSPCA has a dedicated and trained team of Animal Welfare Inspectors who cover the greater Dublin area and are authorised officers under the Animal Health & Welfare Act.

If you wish to report an act of cruelty or neglect or if you are concerned for the welfare of an animal, please gather as much information as possible to help us:

  • Description of animal and nature of their condition/injuries/neglect
  • Photo/s or Video Footage is important
  • Exact and precise location of the animal/s
  • Contact details of owner if known.
  • Is the animal loose or contained in a safe place.

If you have found a lost or stray dog, you must notify the Dog Wardens in your locality.

All cases involving farm animals must be reported to the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine hotline on 1850 211990 or email animalwelfare@agriculture.gov.ie. For cases relating to cruelty to wildlife please contact the Wildlife Department at nature.conservation@ahg.gov.ie
