At just 10 weeks old, Hercules was found abandoned at a veterinary clinic. He was transferred to the DSPCA by our inspectors where he received anti-parasitic drugs, IV fluids and antibiotics. Sarcoptic mites burrow through the skin causing intense itching, painful irritation, hair loss, infection and scabs. Not only did Hercules have hundreds, possibly thousands of these mites, he was also severely dehydrated, starving and anaemic. Thankfully, after weeks under our care he made a full recovery and was adopted by a loving family.
