Dolly, our very brave girl.  Dolly came into our care in early November after she was transfered to our shelter from another vet hospital. She was found as a stray very underweight and very week. She had surgery to investigate her abdomen and has been on such a long road to recovery.   Dolly was so incredibly nervous when she came into the shelter. She was so sick and weak and totally shut down.

She couldn't stand by herself at all. Over time with lots of help she began to stand for short periods of time once she was helped and placed into a standing position. She had lots of bad days but thankfully lots of good days too. Dolly has been in and out of the shelter for vet visits with her amazing foster mom who has helped her grow in confidence and showed her what it's like to be loved. Dolly is still a nervous girl but once she becomes more comfortable with you she's very affectionate.

It's amazing how well she has done after being so sick. It's wonderful to see her happy and running around when she couldn't even stand. We are now hoping to find a loving home for Dolly. She needs a home with another dog as she really thrives having a doggie friend by her side. She doesn't like being alone for too long so her new home should have someone around most of the time. She needs a calm environment and someone with time and patience to make her feel comfortable, safe and loved.
