Casper was found by a member of the public with a chain wrapped around his neck. There was a concrete block attached to the chain which he had been dragging around behind him. He was terrified, starved and in desperate need of veterinary care. His coat was matted, overgrown and yellow and he had severe pressure sores from years of lying on hard surfaces and outdoors. Casper wouldn’t let anyone pet him or show him any affection. He was shut down and broken. He spent many months learning to trust humans again and each day he would go home with our Kennel Manager Shane who he formed a very strong and special bond with. Slowly over time and with lots of patience and socialisation Casper learned to enjoy life and we are delighted to say that his best pal Shane decided to adopt him. Casper spends his days at the DSPCA and helps raise awareness of our work and attends many events and corporate visits. He is a total snuggle bug and adores to be cuddled!
