We're happy to visit your school or group to give talks and presentations - no group too large.
We can work with groups of all ages and are happy to create an age/ability appropriate session tailored to your group’s interests.
We can work around any subject, including the 'Myself and the Wider World' strand of the SPHE and SESE Primary Curriculum and the Civics, Social, Political, Science and Career Guidance subjects in the Secondary School Curriculum.
We have information handouts, education videos and DVDs; incorporated into our sessions are our Education dogs who help reinforce the message of responsible pet care.
We can cover a wide variety of topics to suit your group's interests and needs: these commonly include:
- Responsible Pet Care (focusing on common household pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, budgies, etc.)
- The Work of the DSPCA
- Animal Cruelty and Neglect; what can you do to help?
- Responsible Horse Care
You can find more topics that may be of interest in our Primary and Secondary Schools' Programmes on this site.
If you have a topic of interest that is not listed here, please ask and we will do our best to meet your needs. Humane education is an important part of the learning experience.
If you want to learn a little bit more about the Work of the DSPCA Education Department, contact Gillian Bird by telephoning her at (01) 4994705.
