Our mission is to provide the ultimate in reduced-stress, home-styled luxury to make the feline boarding experience cosy, comfortable, and safe so while you are away the cats can play!
We have custom built individual and spacious cat suites which are manufactured in UPVC & glass and are ventilated, spacious & bright with good natural light.
We provide the highest quality environment for your treasured cat. We have dedicated and trained cat loving staff to give your cat the best of care possible. Our compassionate pet loving caregivers also live on the premises.
Our indoor boarding suites are individually heated and air conditioned so whatever the weather your pet will be comfortable and happy. Our cat suite also have a snug and comfy penthouse snoozing quarters so your cat will feel secure while having one of their cat naps.
We provide spacious accommodation for your cat. Each cat will have their own personal suite for the duration of their stay, we never house cats from different homes together and our solidly built enclosures ensure that none of our animals directly face another. This reduces frustration or intimidation between our guests and helps maintain a calm atmosphere with minimal noise levels. We have used state of the art building materials in our suites to ensure they are easy to clean and safe for your cat, your cat will also feel safe and secure in our facilities.
We offer extra-large suites for two cats or more from the same family so all your kitties can all stay together if you wish. Our animal carers offer individual care and attention to each feline guest. Play-time, petting, and TLC are all inclusive in our services.
Catering to all special needs ranks high on our list of priorities and we understand that cats can be stressed easily so we will work with your cat to ensure they fully enjoy their stay.
Bowls, Bedding and Toys for Cats
Everything that your cat needs during their stay is supplied by us, but if you do choose to bring your cat's own blanket please wash it a couple of days before arrival - so whilst it is clean and fresh it still has the reassuring familiar smells of home. Also if you would like to bring in favourite toys that are washable for your cat feel free to do so - toys from home are comforting for your cat during their stay with us.
Please supply your cats own food. When packing your cats food for their stay, it should be both bagged and labelled in daily portions, or the appropriate size scoop included in containers.
If special diets are required they should be supplied along with any specific feeding instructions. Some cats stomachs can be sensitive and a change of diet can cause stomach upsets so if your cat does have a senstive stomach it is beneficial to bring their own food. If your cat suffers from a sick stomach we will ensure that our veterinary clinic staff take good care of your pet but there is an extra charge for veterinary care. We do not offer discounted rates if your own food is supplied.
If you forget your cats food on arrival you can purchase a bag of dry food ( Purina Pro Plan) from our shop. Please note we do not sell wet cat food.
We will provide your cat with its own personal litter tray for the duration of their stay in their suite. Due to our spacious suites the litter tray will be placed far away from any food, water or sleeping areas to ensure your cat is content. The litter tray will be monitored, cleaned and sterilised throughout the day to ensure your cat is kept clean and healthy.
Health, Medication and Illness
We are happy to give prescribed medication to cats staying with us - please supply clear written instructions and sufficient quantity of medicines for your cat's entire stay. We are unable to do intravenous medication at this current time.
In the unfortunate event of your cat becoming ill during a stay with us the DSPCA has a veterinary team on staff. We have a full vet clinic as part of our facilities onsite in our grounds if required. We can also liaise with your vet if your cat is being treated for an on-going condition. There will be extra charges if veterinary care is required. Read more about our state of the art veterinary hospital on http://www.dspca.ie/vetclinic.
As part of our normal care we carry out routine health checks on your cat during their stay with us.
Exercise & Activities
As our suites are very spacious and have different levels to them your cat will have plenty of room to move around, stretch and exercise. To keep their senses alert & refreshed they'll experience the natural sights & sounds of the countryside and Dublin mountains along with interesting garden views. Your cat will get plenty of opportunities to play with the toys provided and get lots of cuddles, petting and loving attention. Care is individualised according to the temperament and interests of the cat so whether your cat is a lapcat or can be aloof it will receive the attention and care it desires.
Hygiene & Safety
The welfare of your cat as well as the other cat in our care is vital to us so it is absolutely necessary to bring along your cat's current veterinary vaccination certificate. It is our policy to refuse entry to any cat that does not have a valid vaccination certificate and or is showing symptoms of any contagious illness or disease.
For Vaccinations to be valid they must be done at least 14 days prior to their arrival to us. Read more about our Vaccination requirements on http://www.dspca.ie/BoardingVaccinations
Every attention to detail has been thought about especially hygiene as this is a major factor of the cat's welfare. We chose UPVC and double glazing glass as it is a non-porous, fire resistant material and is a high quality material. The material construction is cleaned easily and does not harbour disease.
We follow a strict daily routine in hygiene to avoid any cross contamination during a cats stay with us. The enclosures and all the items within are thoroughly disinfected before the new arrival checks in. Every item we have used in the rooms has been carefully chosen so that they can be disinfected. We do not use any wood products that can harbour bacteria or disease. Cats are fussy, clean animals that love their own space, not an environment that smells of numerous other cats that have previously boarded!
Our cattery building is completely separate from our reception and dog kennels and we have cattery only kitchen, washing & storage facilities so your cat won't get a sniff of the dogs in the kennels.
Our facilities have secure double doors for the security and safety of your pet so pets will only be allowed outside when they are with us so you don't have to worry about your cat going missing from our facilities. These secure doors also ensure that your pet is safe from any unwanted visitors.
Our facilities are alarmed and have CCTV Cameras and staff are onsite 24 hours a day. Keeping our cattery separate from our reception areas means that no-one is allowed in the cattery without staff supervision, it is not possible for any visitors to just wander in which keeps your pet safe and secure while boarding with us.
