Hi, I'm Maggie

I’m a Cairn Terrier and I live with Inspector Penny. I came to the DSPCA in September 2003 after I was hit by a DART train. Vet Joe told me that my poor little leg was so badly damaged that they had to remove it.

But to look at me now, you would never know! I go tearing about the place. My favourite thing to do is stare at the chickens by the pond or stare down the cats in the cattery run.

You know, contrary to popular belief, I actually love cats. I live with Miss World the Tortie. Now saying that, I have to admit it is most fun to rile them and get their backs up – that is if you can get away in time and avoid the painful swipe!

Now, more about me. I’m very playful and am forever standing on my back 1 ½ legs for treats – I’ve actually perfected this stance.

Some people say I’m a bit mischievous but I make up for it in cuteness and I’m always up for cuddles. I love to play with and chew everything that crosses my path.

Because of your sponsorship Jimmy the CEO (the grey haired old geezer) gives me lots of treats. Little does he know that I give most of the treats to the dogs in the kennels cause they are sick or injured and don’t have a home (yet).
