Guest of honour was Ireland’s Six Nations winning coach Joe Schmidt who spoke to the gathering. RTE’s Brian Ormond acted as Master of Ceremonies on the night, while 80’s tribute act DELOREAN entertained guests into the wee hours with their own blend of classic hits.

Since 1840 the DSPCA has helped to save and re-home over 500,000 animals. Every single day of the year, we work tirelessly to rescue all animals from a lifetime of cruelty, violence and pain. Our state-of-the-art facility offers shelter and emergency care to a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, goats, cows, pigs, rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, budgies, snakes, terrapins and all manner of farmyard fowl. As well as our private Veterinary clinic, the popular King of Paws facility - incorporating the Pet Spa & Hotel and Boarding for dogs and cats - continues to expand.

The DSPCA relies on the support of a loyal group of sponsors and we are indebted to our loyal partners who were all represented on the night - Allianz, Brightwater Recruitment, Linders Renault, Purina and many others who have shown their support over many years to Ireland’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity.

There were some amazing prizes on offer for our auction including a signed Ireland rugby jersey from this year’s successful Championship winning side, a signed Leinster Rugby jersey, a chance to bid for a tour of Olympic bronze medallist Cian O'Connor's Karlswood Stables and watch a horse getting trained, a signed shirt from Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, a luxury scarf from one of the hottest brands in Irish fashion - KDK, a pair of tickets to the Garth Brooks concert in Croke Park this summer, a signed jersey from reigning All-Ireland and Allianz National League champions Dublin, Rock jewellery who have kindly donated a fabulous piece of jewellery, an overnight stay in the Hotel Meyrick in Galway, gifts from Newbridge Silverware and the Shelbourne Hotel, luxury hampers, a chance to bid for a child to become a mascot at a home Leinster Rugby game in 2014/15, an exclusive Hat from Hats By Ash Ireland and there’s lots more including the likes of a year’s free gym membership and a chance to travel for a day with the DSPCA ambulance driver...

Guests on the night also had the chance to enter a raffle for a superb prize, kindly sponsored by our friends in Linders Renault, which gave guests the chance to win the use of a Renault Captor for a year.
