The DSPCA welcomes confirmation by Minister Simon Coveney this morning

Friday November 22, 2013

The DSPCA welcomes confirmation by Minister Simon Coveney this morning that the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013, as enacted some months ago, outlaws the barbaric and unnecessary practices of tail docking and dew claw removal by any person.

The DSPCA had no doubt that this was always the case and have maintained direct contact with the Department throughout.

We will, as always, continue to support and work closely with the Minister and his Officials in implementing this progressive and far reaching animal welfare legislation.
