FELINE FRENZY - SPEED DATING EVENT

Tuesday August 09, 2011

FABULOUS FELINES LOOKING FOR LOVE!
- IT’S RAINING CATS AND MORE CATS THIS SUMMER IN THE DSPCA
- CAT SPEED-DATING EVENT TO TAKE PLACE THIS THURSDAY 11th August from 12noon to 9PM:

The DSPCA has launched a cat campaign, the centre has been inundated with kittens and cats in desperate need of finding new homes this summer, with 1234 cats and kittens taken in this year so far and 395 new additions in July alone!  Some of these cuties are older cats, confused and heartbroken because they’ve lost their homes and are then often overlooked in favour of kittens, currently 120 feline babies and are in foster care, but need a permanent family to love them.

DSPCA has launched and media and viral campaign to find suitable homes for fabulous felines, which will include a speed-dating event this Thursday in the centre in Rathfarnham.

Orla Aungier, Operations Manager, DSPCA explains: “Every Summer we get lots of cats and kittens into the centre, but this year because of increased demand on our services, we are totally overrun! Kittens provide wonderful entertainment but if you are looking for a mature and independent companion who enjoys the finer things in life -relaxing by your side, snoozing in the sun - then an adult cat is ideal. We are hoping that people will consider making some room for some feline friendship in their life – everyone deserves a rewarding companion and here in the DSPCA we want to help people and puddies find their purrfect match”

If you’d like more information call the DSPCA at 01-4994700 or log onto www.dspca.ie  better still, drop into the centre and visit them.
