DSPCA Break Guinness World Record

Monday October 06, 2014

This record breaking event took part at the DSPCA’s Great Irish Dog Walk which was held in the Phoenix Park on Saturday 27th September.  There were thousands of dogs and owners having a fun filled doggy day.

“We are a Guinness World Record Holders!” Says head of dog training Alex Petrilli.  “425 dogs trained to sit, give the paw and lie down and target touch at the same time which beats the current record of 390 dogs set in Madrid two years ago.” Alex continues, “It was a fantastic achievement, at one point we had 425 dogs, not one barking!  Bigger countries have been able to do it but for a small country like Ireland to be Top shows us to be a nation of animal lovers.  We are so thankful to everyone who helped make it possible.”

Alex is the head dog trainer and founded of the King of Paws Dog Training Academy at the DSPCA (Dublin society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Irelands oldest and largest animal charity.
