Emaciated horse found tied to chest freezer in Ballymun

Friday February 11, 2011

An emaciated horse was found tied to a chest freezer behind the NCT Test Centre in Ballymum on Thursday 10 February.  The DSPCA immediately responded to the call and brought the horse to our Rescue & Rehoming Centre in Rathfarnham.

Cold and frightened, this gentle chestnut mare was abandoned without food, water or shelter and had fallen while attempting to free herself and was saturated in mud.

Our veterinary and equine care teams have named this horse Josie and are caring for her at our centre. If you care about the plight of Josie and horses like her, please support the work of the DSPCA and give now.
