Learning about animals is fun and rewarding and seeing the DSPCA in action is a must for any group wanting to know more about what we do.
Why not arrange a free trip to our rescue and rehoming centre?
We can work with all ages of students and are happy to create an age/ability appropriate session tailored to your group’s interests. We can work around any Civics, Social, Political, Science and Career Guidance subjects.
School groups, community groups, summer recreation programs, church groups and any other interested groups can set up a time for a tour of the DPCA animal rescue and rehoming centre!
Visits taking approximately 1½ hours and this time includes a discussion session in our lecture room followed by a tour of the centre including the cattery, dog kennels, small animals, horse stables, paddocks and wildlife rehabilitation sections.
Our lecture room can seat up to 50 students at a time.
Tours are free and tour visiting hours are Monday – Friday between 10.30am to 3.30pm but must be pre-booked, please ring our Education Department at 4994705 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make a booking. We unfortunately cannot accept ANY groups without an advance booking.
Tours include an audio-visual presentation, lively discussion and a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into running the DSPCA Centre including interaction with many of the resident animals including horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, cows, dogs, cats and a variety of birds.
We can cover a wide variety of topics to suit your groups interests and needs, these commonly include:
